Tulane baseball will officially kick off its autumn preparations on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 13, at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium, opening a fall camp that features four exhibition contests, open intrasquad scrimmages, and a massive roster transition. Coming off a 25-31 campaign in 2026 with a 10-17 mark in American Athletic Conference action, head coach Jay Uhlman’s program faces the immediate task of integrating 21 newcomers alongside a core of 13 returning players.

Exhibition Games and Fall Calendar

The Green Wave’s four-game exhibition slate provides immediate tactical testing against regional opposition. Tulane opens its exhibition schedule on Saturday, Oct. 24, traveling to Mobile, Alabama, to face a South Alabama club that posted a 34-23 overall record and a 17-13 mark in Sun Belt play last spring. The following afternoon, Sunday, Oct. 25, Tulane returns home to host Lamar at 2 p.m. at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. Lamar represents a stern early test, coming off a 34-27 season in which they captured the Southland Conference title and earned a berth in the 2026 NCAA College Station Regional.

Following Alumni Weekend from Nov. 6–8—highlighted by the annual Alumni Game on Sunday, Nov. 8—Tulane concludes its fall calendar with a local home-and-home split against LSU New Orleans. The Green Wave host the Privateers (24-30 overall, 13-17 Southland in 2026) on Friday, Nov. 20, before visiting Maestri Field on Saturday, Nov. 21.

Roster Overhaul: 21 Newcomers Join 13 Returners

The central storyline of Tulane’s autumn camp is player integration. The Green Wave return 13 players from the 2026 roster: pitchers Luis Pablo Navarro, Caden Tarango, Jack Brafa, Beau Sampson, Michael Devenney, and Owen Geiss; two-way player Julius Ejike-Charles (P/OF); infielders Nolan Nawrocki, Bryson Ayala, and Nate Johnson; outfielders Evan Burg and AJ Groeneveld (INF/OF); and catcher Johnny Elliott.

To revitalize depth, Tulane brought in 21 newcomers. The heavy pitching influx includes Carson Orvis, Laird Williams, Tomas Bilvado, Hunter Shaw, Aidan Grab, Kieran Kostanoski, Braden Place, Evan Kleinhans, Cole Greer, Josh Midbo, Conner Connell, and Noah Bolinger. Catching additions feature Sam Weinstein and Sage Adams, alongside position players Jacob Croxford (OF), Sebastian Rhoades (INF), Robbie Demetree (INF), Owen Morgan (INF), Brady Fitzpatrick (OF), Beckett Suh (INF), and Ryan Darrah (OF).

This roster overhaul comes after right-handed pitcher Sam Larson was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 16th round (464th overall) of the 2026 MLB Draft. Larson was the 139th player drafted in Tulane history, extending a streak in which Tulane has produced eight draft picks over the last three seasons, at least one selection in 15 consecutive drafts, and at least one pitcher selected in six straight drafts.
