# WTGL Lock-In: Five Rosters Formed for Inaugural Season as World No. 1 Nelly Korda Sidelined

When the full 25-player roster slate for the inaugural WTGL season was finalized on Monday, the lineup delivered an immediate statement of international star power—and one glaring omission. World No. 1 Nelly Korda is notably absent from the list of competitors heading to the tech-infused arena in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, leaving the brand-new simulator league to launch its maiden campaign without women's golf's premier name.

Despite Korda’s absence, the winter circuit has pulled together deep international credentials. Thirteen countries are represented across the five five-player squads, with eight of the world’s top 15 golfers (as of August 24) committed to the post-LPGA Tour window. Set inside the SoFi Center immediately following the conclusion of the LPGA schedule in November, the league will feature head-to-head team competition running through November and December.

## The Five-Team Architecture and Roster Distribution

Designed as a winter follow to the Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy co-founded TGL platform—which enters its third season in 2027—WTGL builds its foundation around five franchise brands: Atlanta, Boston Common Golf, Los Angeles Golf Club, New York Golf Club, and the expansion Motor City Golf Club. Each team carries five players on its roster, with three athletes taking the simulator floor for any given match.

The competition structure departs slightly from the men's TGL format. Teams will navigate a round-robin regular season where every fixture directly influences postseason positioning. The schedule culminates in a high-stakes playoff phase featuring single-elimination semifinals followed by a best-of-three championship final inside the SoFi Center—where Atlanta Drive GC claimed the inaugural men's SoFi Cup and Los Angeles Golf Club secured season two.

Henderson, currently ranked 11th in the world, brings rare team experience to the dynamic, having previously represented the World Team at the International Crown. She becomes the second Canadian professional to step into the SoFi Center environment following Corey Conners' stint with Atlanta Drive GC in December.

The 28-year-old American has built a dominant resume featuring 19 career LPGA victories, $22.3 million in career earnings, four tour wins this season, and a recent high-profile appearance at Bernardus for the 2026 Solheim Cup, where she anchored team sessions alongside Allisen Corpuz and Lauren Coughlin before facing Mimi Rhodes in Sunday singles.

Analysis indicates that managing off-season recovery against high-intensity indoor engagements remains a primary consideration for top-tier stars navigating grueling 10-month LPGA schedules.
